CogAT, OLSAT & NNAT Practice
The CogAT, OLSAT and NNAT screen for gifted and talented (GATE / TAG) programs in the US. Between them they test verbal, quantitative and nonverbal reasoning; the NNAT is entirely nonverbal.
What each test emphasises
- CogAT — three batteries: verbal, quantitative (number series and logic), and nonverbal (figure matrices).
- OLSAT — verbal and nonverbal ability, with a strong pattern-and-analogy component.
- NNAT — pattern completion, reasoning by analogy, serial reasoning and spatial visualisation, all with shapes.
Is preparing fair?
Practising the format is widely accepted and is why official practice materials exist — a bright child who has never seen a figure matrix can underperform from pure unfamiliarity. OjasaLearn teaches each reasoning type as a method, then gives calm untimed practice followed by timed sets. It adapts to the child, so it works from early elementary upward.
