ICAS Preparation
ICAS assessments run in Australia, New Zealand and more than 20 countries, testing higher-order thinking in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing and Spelling. Questions run harder than year level and reward applying a concept in a new situation.
Subjects and OjasaLearn
- Mathematics — problem solving and reasoning; Maths in Skill Academy, then Olympiad-style stretch.
- English — comprehension and language skills; English practice.
- Science — reasoning from data and scenarios; supported by our logic and comprehension work.
- Writing — OjasaLearn builds the structure and vocabulary base; the task itself is practised and marked separately.
- Spelling — supported through English pattern and rule work.
How to prepare for the difficulty
Build each concept solidly in Skill Academy, then stretch it with Olympiad-style and cross-topic problems that take a familiar idea into an unfamiliar question — the exact demand ICAS makes. OjasaLearn is not affiliated with ICAS Assessments, UNSW Global or Janison.
Is ICAS the same in every country?
The format and skills are consistent, with content pitched to year level; OjasaLearn adapts difficulty to the child.
