A face is a flat surface, an edge is where two faces meet, and a vertex is a corner. Ellie the elephant counts them on a cube (6 faces, 12 edges, 8 vertices), including the ones you can’t see. Then count the faces, edges and vertices of a square-based pyramid yourself, and learn a counting trick for prisms.
Which flat net folds into a cube? Bruno the bear watches a cross-shaped net fold up into a box and learns three rules: six squares, never more than four in a row, and no 2 by 2 block. Then choose which of two nets makes a cube.
On a normal dice, opposite faces add up to 7: 1 and 6, 2 and 5, 3 and 4. Bruno the bear uses this to find the hidden bottom face when 3 is on top (4), and learns that opposite faces can never be seen at the same time. Then find the total of the three hidden faces yourself.
Rosie the rabbit folds a sheet of paper in half, punches one hole, and unfolds it. Every layer gets a hole, and the holes are mirror images across the fold line. Then work out what happens when the paper is folded twice into quarters before punching.
